We recognized the need for an alternative to long-term care in 1984. Families unable to pay for private duty nursing services were destined to place loved ones in nursing homes.
Extended was found in 1986 under the direction of Brenda Harris, a professional Registered Nurse; who understood the needs of seniors from a personal perspective. She strived to find quality resources and available services for her grandmother, mother, and father.
She opened the First Nurse-led home care services in Middle Georgia. Extended later found the Home Health company of Atlanta obtaining three Certificate of Needs.
